About us

Sandra and Ludwig Kreuzberg continue to run the winery founded by Hermann Josef Kreuzberg in 1953. From an initial 3.5 hectares, it has grown to 10.5 hectares of vineyards and has been a member of ‘VDP.Die Prädikatsweingüter’ since 2000. With a clear focus on quality by reducing yields to less than 30 hl/ha in some cases, red wines full of character and characterised by the terroir are produced here. The winery's steep slopes, characterised by Devonian and blue slate, comprise 10 VDP-classified ‘Große Lage’ vineyards. Fermented in open mash fermenters, the wines mature in used and new French wooden barrels to develop their full potential.

Wine Estate

With 80% of our vineyard area, the focus is on Pinot Noir. The majority of our vineyards are located on steep slopes, which are worked and harvested by hand. In the cellar, we process the grapes as gently as possible in order to preserve the quality that was created in the vineyard. The grapes are fermented spontaneously in open fermentation vats and are racked up to six times by hand in order to extract the full potential of the grapes. After fermentation, the wines are aged for up to 20 months in new and used French oak barrels, where they also undergo malolactic fermentation.
